"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
Matthew 6:34
Jesus' command to not worry about tomorrow, let alone the weeks and months ahead always reminds me not to be anxious because God is completely in control! Would recommend reading Matthew 6 v25-34.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
For me, I think early on in the lockdown period I was very struck how relevant these words from Colossians 3:12 are: ’Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.’ When there‘s so much stress around, how we need God’s patience towards one another, and his compassion for those who are really going through it.
I came across these wonderful verses this week while watching a sermon online:
"All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,
'God opposes the proud
but shows favour to the humble.'
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."
1 Peter 5:5b-7
These verses start by telling us we should humble ourselves before God and submit to him.
How can we do this? By casting all of our anxieties on him, both through prayer and by not relying on ourselves.
Why? Simply, because he cares for us!
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
Matthew 6:34

Phil 4 v 6-7
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
'Be still and know that I am God'
Psalm 46:10
...this is a crazy challenging time but there is an opportunity for each of us to discover more about Jesus.
